~Summer~

It's summer, people!! I love it!!

Our garden is growing like crazy.. can't wait to start grilling! Yum!!

I'm so excited for my 'green' beans... they come in purple, then turn green when they're cooked. Awesome!! Lol...

Our cute lil rows of sweet corn... Steve's row is perfect and mine looks like a 3 year old tried to plant it.

Alice decided to disappear for a couple days and randomly came home all cuddly and extremely skinny.. still have no idea where she disappeared to, but she seems really happy to be home. I'm crossing my fingers that she isn't "with kitten"! Lol...

Our lilies are going crazy right now, they're so pretty!

Our landlord swore up and down our house would be painted by now... but it's not. Surprise. :-S
I wouldn't mind so much except we're having a crowd over for the 4th and the outside of our house looks tragic... oh well. Nothing we can really do about it...

It's May!

Let me just say that my husband rocks.
He brought me home an orchid!! I've only been wanting one for forever, so he saw it while he was out and grabbed it for me. He's so thoughtful. :-)

And let me just repeat myself: My husband rocks!!
He made this unbelievable chest for our room.. it's gorgeous!!!
I'm in love (with my husband, and a little bit with the chest)!

And Kia asked me to take a picture of her and her favorite toy.
So I did.

The kitties have been so happy the weather has been warming up... even Latte has been venturing out (after I threw her outside).

Here's the table topper I made for my mom about a month back... I made one for me too, with similar but lighter shades. It's parked on my shiny new chest Steve made me.

Not much else has been going on. Some friends of ours were really thoughtful and let us borrow their tiller, so we finally finished with that. Hopefully tomorrow the weather will be nice enough that I can plant when I get home from work. Fingers crossed! :-)

On a completely unrelated note, The Hunger Games is in the process of becoming a movie!!! I'm warring between sheer excitement and severe doubt.... I'm afraid it's going to be tragic and ruin the book. BUT, I wasn't happy about the main actress they chose (Jennifer Lawrence), then I saw the first picture released of her portrayed as Katniss on the cover of Entertainment Weekly and she looked wayyy more convincing than I ever imagined! So now I'm tentatively hopeful!! Oh, and for those of you who have no idea what The Hunger Games is, it's only one of the best books ever written!! Seriously... fantastic!! It's the first of a trilogy. If you haven't read it... GO READ IT!!!

Timmy and Heidi are almost ready to get married! The wedding is this weekend peoples!! I'm so excited for them! And me; I'm getting another sister! :-)

This &That

Wow, it's been a while since I last posted. I ended up getting a job, it's not the one I envisioned, but I'm extremely grateful that God provided it for me; plus, there's plenty of opportunities for advancement.

This post is basically a bunch of random pictures of what's been going on around here lately.. The one above is my 'Jane Austen' quilt top that I finally finished yesterday.

The one below below is the runner I made to go on the quilt chest my wonderful incredible sweet hubby made for me. :-) Can't wait to get it home to see how it looks in our bedroom.. I will be posting pics!!
(Latte had to dominate it for a few minutes to break it in.)

These pics are from this past week.... the weather has been so fantastic!!

This is the ginormous hole the dogs dug at the base of this giant old oak in our backyard... it's ridiculous. Who would have thought Dobermans loved to dig. Kia and Ash have this whole tag team thing going on where Kia digs like crazy on a mole hill and Ash stands behind her and snaps at all the clumps of dirt that coming flying at her until she eventually gets lucky and catches the mole. :-/ It's a dumb game. Lol..

Our crazy girls... they've been SO hyper ever since it warmed up.

This picture just made me laugh... Kia looks so miserable. Poor girl... Ash just can't understand that Kia isn't a cuddler.

So that's all that's been going on here lately. Basically, I've just been working a lot and enjoying the weather whenever I can. I've even managed to keep the house clean.
I know, I'm on a roll.

Weekends

Well, I had a wonderful weekend.
The hubby and I went to visit his family this weekend and us girls all worked on projects. I'm calling it my Pride and Prejudice quilt lol... Becka worked on one with the same pattern and Mom C worked on her gorgeous house quilt. Crystal even came over on Sunday and finished an adorable flying geese table topper. I considered swiping it, but I'm pretty sure she would have noticed.
Together, we drank about 6 pots of coffee in 2 days.
It was nice.

I'm also determined to finish up my fandango stars by the end of February.

I love the colors, I just keep setting it aside and forgetting about it. Not sure why.

I had an interview this morning which went really well... I'm trying to trust God and not worry. I loved the office, everyone was really nice. It seems like a great place to work. I probably won't know anything for a couple of weeks though, so the waiting is always tough. Positive thoughts!!! :-)

This Past Week

The one good thing about being unemployed is that it gives me time to blog. The bad part? I have almost nothing to blog about. (Plus, no income!) Lol...
But the kids were being pretty cute, so I'll give you some pictures of them.

Above, we have the kitties claiming ownership of my quilts, plus Ash snoozing on the futon that she's supposedly not allowed on. Hmmm...

And below, we have Latte, the one that's nearly impossible to get a good picture of. This is probably the best shot I have of her.

I spent the week job hunting like a madwoman, applied for a ton of different administrative positions since there were zero dental assistant ads, but so far nuthin. :-( I may have chosen the wrong career field for the current job market. Drat.
However, I do have some hope for a position I applied for today, someone I know works there and encouraged me to apply, so hopefully something comes of it. It's definitely not what I went to college for, but hey... a job is a job. Plus, it offers great benefits and paid training. I'm not holding my breath that I'll get an interview, but I am really hoping that it happens. Lol...
Well, that's my news for the week. Hopefully this next one is more productive!

~New Stuff~

So, we finally got around to hanging more pictures! And then about halfway through the process, we ran out of hooks, so we'll have to wait til we pick up some more. Drat it... I have to remotivate myself to finish hanging everything now. Lol...

So Alice has been very weird all day today (I blame my aunt).
And Steve's been pretty cute. He can't help it.

So, other news:
I finished extern yesterday, which was a relief. However..... no job offer. I'm a little perplexed, because the office manager gave me excellent reviews and mentioned on them that I caught on fast and that everyone liked me.... I have a feeling she thought I was too quiet. Which is a little dumb, since I wasn't that quiet around everyone else, I wasn't afraid to ask questions or take charge of patients; she was just never around to actually see any of that. She even gave me a letter of recommendation without being asked. :-S
Oh well, I guess. I know I did my best, can't help it if someone doesn't like my personality.
So I've been applying everywhere as of last night and today, hopefully I get some interviews first thing next week.
Prayers are very welcome!! I don't like not being employed. :-)
I've got a good feeling, though, I'm excited to experience new opportunities and see where God takes me.
