Weekends

Well, I had a wonderful weekend.
The hubby and I went to visit his family this weekend and us girls all worked on projects. I'm calling it my Pride and Prejudice quilt lol... Becka worked on one with the same pattern and Mom C worked on her gorgeous house quilt. Crystal even came over on Sunday and finished an adorable flying geese table topper. I considered swiping it, but I'm pretty sure she would have noticed.
Together, we drank about 6 pots of coffee in 2 days.
It was nice.

I'm also determined to finish up my fandango stars by the end of February.

I love the colors, I just keep setting it aside and forgetting about it. Not sure why.

I had an interview this morning which went really well... I'm trying to trust God and not worry. I loved the office, everyone was really nice. It seems like a great place to work. I probably won't know anything for a couple of weeks though, so the waiting is always tough. Positive thoughts!!! :-)

This Past Week

The one good thing about being unemployed is that it gives me time to blog. The bad part? I have almost nothing to blog about. (Plus, no income!) Lol...
But the kids were being pretty cute, so I'll give you some pictures of them.

Above, we have the kitties claiming ownership of my quilts, plus Ash snoozing on the futon that she's supposedly not allowed on. Hmmm...

And below, we have Latte, the one that's nearly impossible to get a good picture of. This is probably the best shot I have of her.

I spent the week job hunting like a madwoman, applied for a ton of different administrative positions since there were zero dental assistant ads, but so far nuthin. :-( I may have chosen the wrong career field for the current job market. Drat.
However, I do have some hope for a position I applied for today, someone I know works there and encouraged me to apply, so hopefully something comes of it. It's definitely not what I went to college for, but hey... a job is a job. Plus, it offers great benefits and paid training. I'm not holding my breath that I'll get an interview, but I am really hoping that it happens. Lol...
Well, that's my news for the week. Hopefully this next one is more productive!

~New Stuff~

So, we finally got around to hanging more pictures! And then about halfway through the process, we ran out of hooks, so we'll have to wait til we pick up some more. Drat it... I have to remotivate myself to finish hanging everything now. Lol...

So Alice has been very weird all day today (I blame my aunt).
And Steve's been pretty cute. He can't help it.

So, other news:
I finished extern yesterday, which was a relief. However..... no job offer. I'm a little perplexed, because the office manager gave me excellent reviews and mentioned on them that I caught on fast and that everyone liked me.... I have a feeling she thought I was too quiet. Which is a little dumb, since I wasn't that quiet around everyone else, I wasn't afraid to ask questions or take charge of patients; she was just never around to actually see any of that. She even gave me a letter of recommendation without being asked. :-S
Oh well, I guess. I know I did my best, can't help it if someone doesn't like my personality.
So I've been applying everywhere as of last night and today, hopefully I get some interviews first thing next week.
Prayers are very welcome!! I don't like not being employed. :-)
I've got a good feeling, though, I'm excited to experience new opportunities and see where God takes me.

Is it weird that I have a husband who is addicted to watching childrens cartoons? I think he's currently on the 2nd season of the Avengers.
And I was worried that I was a dork.

Well, this week has been a little rough... I'm ready for the weekend. I've been sick since Christmas, badly enough that I've missed 2 1/2 days of work this week. I suspect my office manager is annoyed. :-S
So I'm not very sure of getting hired now, especially since I finish my extern next week and she hasn't brought the subject up yet...
But I've had enough of worrying. The good thing about being sick this week is that it's given me time to fix my attitude and adjust my perspective on things.
I really don't care if I get hired here or not.
I would be thrilled if they did, but I'm not hanging all of my hopes and dreams on it anymore. God will put me where He wants me, whether or not I stress out about things. It's such a relief to know he's in control.
Seriously.
Also, I think I worry too much about whether or not people like me.
Which is every bit as stupid as stressing out.
So no more of that, either.
Because people either like you, or they don't.
As long as you're being nice to them, who cares?
Geez, listen to me....
I sound like a 'Confucius says...' fortune cookie.
LOL
For being sick, I've never felt better.
I'm carefree, baby.
(And despite the way I sound, NOT high on cold medicine. Promise.)

Christmasishness

So.. I've been busy with Christmas stuff and with extern...
I'm working in oral surgery and I'm hooked; if they don't hire me I'm going to be seriously depressed. Lol! I love oral surgery, I really want to stick with it. We'll see what God decides, I suppose.

On a different note, I've been finishing up some quilting that I've been too busy to work on. I finally finished the binding on this quilt...

And I added the finishing touches on this runner to give to my mom for Christmas. I'm hoping she loves it!

The selfish part of me is dying to keep it for myself.
But I know my mom will love it, so I'm forcing myself to give it up. For her.
Lol...

So that's all my news. Just work, Christmas stuff, enjoying life. Hope everyone else is having as good a holiday as I am!

1 day left!!

Tomorrow is my last day of class!!!!
So happy!!!!

2 Days Left!!

Yup. Only 2 more days to go. Then Friday we have a 4 hour meeting in which we find out our extern locations... I can't wait!!!! My enthusiasm is definitely taking precedence over any nerves at this point, thank goodness. I have a suspicion that I will be headed to oral surgery *crossing fingers*... but again, I won't know for sure until Friday... and there's a chance I could be wrong.
Which really isn't a big deal, since I'll be happy no matter where I'm going lol... at this point I'm just thrilled to be headed to an office and 100% finished with tests and studying!!!!!

I got my quilts back a couple of weeks ago and I've been so busy with all the school stuff that I haven't found time to post pics until now.
This first one is my 2nd quilt that I made, which I designed so that it's reversible... I ended up liking the "back" of it more than the front. Lol..

And this is another runner I threw together one afternoon.. I think my mom wants to steal it from me. I don't blame her... I love the colors!
I'm thinking I'll put on a green or brown binding and add a line of rickrack down each of the 2 white strips.

And now for my absolute favorite...

I LOVE this quilt!! It turned out so much prettier than I was expecting, and the colors are so warm and soft..... makes me want to take a nap on it! Lol...
Plus, it was so easy to make.... I put most of it together in only 2 days.

Well, that's all for now.
I'll post more pics when the bindings are on and they're completely finished.
And I'll post an update on where I'll be externing.
